Year 6 swimmers will be dropped at Grantham Meres following their school trip. Swimmers may be collected from Grantham if preferred (approx finish 3.00pm), please email games@st-hughs.lincs.sch.uk to confirm.

The Grantham Prep Swimming Gala on Monday saw the beginning of a very busy week! 14 swimmers represented the St Hugh's team with pupils from Year 3-6 competing. 

It was great to see some Year 3 pupils competing up an age group and holding their own against boys and girls in the U9 age category. All races in this event are 25m regardless of age group and are also mixed gender. Age groups were U9, U10 and U11. 

St Hugh's performed very well across the board with a good number of podium finishes. There were six teams competing in the 8 lane pool so competition was tough! Schools included the hosts, Grantham Prep, Stamford JS, St George's and Wellow. As well as some pleasing individual performances, we also looked strong in the relay events with every St Hughs relay team finishing in 2nd or 3rd place. 

A huge well done to all competitors and congratulations to those who received a medal for their individual event (below). Every St Hugh's swimmer also received a medal for their podium finish in the 4x25m freestyle or medley relay. Overall we were delighted to finish as runners up to the winners and hosts, Grantham Prep.
