Meeting Katherine Rundell
Year 6 took the minibus into Lincoln for a very exciting opportunity to meet celebrated children's author, Katherine Rundell.
Organised by Waterstones Lincoln, this event was only open to local schools and we felt very lucky to be invited. Katherine spoke about her latest book, Impossible Creatures, took questions from the audience (including our very own Callan N!) and followed this with a book signing.
She was an incredibly inspiring speaker, and told a rapt audience (of around 800 pupils!) about all the exciting research she does for her own stories, including swimming with pink dolphins in the Amazon River, learning to walk a tightrope, and even eating a tarantula!
We were very lucky to hear her speak, and a big thank you to Waterstones for organising the event. A few Year 6 pupils loved it so much that they started reading Impossible Creatures the very next day!
