Schools Cross Country

St Hugh's hosted the School Games Cross Country on Tuesday afternoon, which saw over 160 competitors taking part from a range of primary schools across the county.  There were 4 races which included U9 Girls, U9 Boys, U11 Girls and U11 Boys.  Despite the wet weather, every child worked hard around the course and represented their school very well. Our Year 3's assisted our course marshals so a special thank you to them for encouraging runners around the course.

St Hugh’s performed extremely well as the host school with every runner tackling the course with grit and determination. It was fantastic to see us looking so strong and the all their hard work in running club has certainly paid off. In all categories, St Hugh’s finished in 1st place with our fastest three runners contributing to the score.  With all team results taken into consideration, St Hugh’s finished top of the scoreboard and received the School Games trophy as Coastal Schools Cross Country winners. We also had a number of individuals on the podium across the age groups. Results can be seen below. A huge well done to all runners for contributing towards a very successful cross country season.
