Match Reports:

Under 8s

It was brilliant to see the boys playing rugby again in a competitive format. Although we did not have the best of weather conditions, the boys stuck to their guns with determination. They played five games in all and improved their performance with every match played. In particular their defensive alignment, and communication. An enjoyable afternoon for all.

Under 9s

It was great to see so many pupils enjoy playing a lot of games against a variety of different schools. The Under 9s showed excellent teamwork throughout the afternoon with some superbly timed passing with support players running on to the ball. There were many instances of individual mazy runs too - frequently from our captains for each of the five matches: Keagan, George, Rory, James and Ben - who also showed good leadership in marshalling their team during the games. They were supported really well by the hard work of their teammates (Sam, Ellis, Noah, Edward, Holden and Thomas) - who contributed with some notable tries and good tackling. Our tagging was also impressive - often managing to tag many more of the opposition than they tagged us. There was a real sense of togetherness in the squad which rotated frequently to give all players a total of 25-30 mins of rugby to play. Also impressive was the resilience to keep going despite the pouring rain and cold winds. Well done boys - a really enjoyable afternoon’s sport.
