Match Reports

Hill House A
Result:
L323-260

On a very hot Friday we travelled to Doncaster to play in the girls' cricket tournament. First match against a very strong Hillhouse team saw St Hugh’s field first and off to a good start with some great bowling and Florence catching out on the first over. Hillhouse communicated well and took advantage of scoring off a wide and hitting well finding the boundary. St Hugh’s responded with some fantastic fielding keeping them down to single runs.

St Hugh’s to bat and and with good communication between the girls they started to accumulate their runs. Some unfortunate high hits and Hillhouse responded with excellent fielding and caught four players out. The girls continued to bat well but couldn’t manage to catch them up. Good game and fight back from St Hugh’s.

St Peters A

Result: L309-266

St Hugh’s to bat first and some good bowling from St Peters kept the girls to single runs. Next to bat Isadora and Poppy - great batting finding the boundary and communicating well. A good team effort from all the girls.

St Peters to bat and they had some great hits scoring sixes and fours. St Hugh’s fielded well and Mahreen took a wicket. Well done all in very hot conditions! Players' Player awarded to Angelina.

Hillhouse B

Result: W325-194

Last match of the day and St Hugh’s to field first. Fantastic fielding by the team with Florence, Angelina and Mahreen catching out. Wickets taken by Angelina and Poppy. Great fielding and backing up each other.

St Hugh’s to bat and another collective effort from the team - sixteen fours and tactically hitting the ball which was great to see. Well done everyone. Players' Player was Sophie.
