U11 Reports

OPPOSITION – Ranby House School

RESULT - Won

SCORE – 4-3

SCORERS –Matthew K, Freddie R, William B

The first game of the U11 season was against Ranby in a festival. Under 11’s are allowed to kick, contest at the scrum and have an extra player in the ruck and maul. Despite conceding an early try we passed and ran the ball really well. There was never more than one try in the game and we eventually came out victorious scoring our forth try in the last couple of minutes.

OPPOSITION –Birkdale School

RESULT - Lost

SCORE – 1-4

SCORERS -

The second match in the festival was against a strong Birkdale side( a much larger school from Sheffield.)  We had more possession during the game but when Birkdale had possession we were a little hesitant in the tackling meaning they scored a number of try’s due to running from the own half. Something to work on in the future.

OPPOSITION –Barlborough School

RESULT - Lost

SCORE – 1-4

SCORERS –E Elton

I tricky final game against a Barlborough team that had two very fast  and talented players. Again we had more possession but were caught on the counter attack on a couple of occasions. Some very promising play nether the less and I am optimistic for the rest of the season.
