Report
The final fixtures of the week were at the IAPs regional tournament at Cambridge. After an early start leaving St. Hugh's at 7.20 we arrived 3 hours later in Cambridge at the fantastic university facilities. Our first game was against Orwell Park School near Ipswich. They scored on 3 minutes in the 1st half and then 3 and 6 minutes in the second half with them running out 3-0 winners; they were the eventual winners of our group. Our second game was against St John's College School from Cambridge. This game finished early as our goalkeeper Lorenzo F took a ball to just above the knee with us trailing 2-0.
Our 3rd game of the morning was against Framlingham College Prep School, the eventual runners up of our group, and they ran out 3-0 winners with 2 goals in the 1st half and 1 in the 2nd. Our second half performance was impressive as we defended well against their fast left winger.
Our final game of the day was against Chigwell Junior School and after a 0-0 first half where Charlie H was harrying them well and our defence was on top, we went out in the second half to get a minimum of a draw. Despite forcing our first short corner of the day and breaking into their D on numerous occasions we were unable to secure a goal.
Despite finishing 5th in our group in the morning, our work ethic, teamwork a determination were all aspects of which we could be proud.
