U13 County Rugby Sevens at Market Rasen RFC (A)1

Match Report

Result: Winners of Bowl

A rescheduled County 7s tournament allowed for the U13 boys to wrap up their rugby season at St Hugh’s. For the Year 8 boys this would be the last of their rugby for the school. The boys had a difficult pool group with some strong schools; Carre’s, De Aston and Louth. The boys played some good rugby in parts, with special mentions for Huxley - welcome back still showing his great footwork, Elliot's effort and workrate around the park continues to be phenomenal, Aydin always willing to put his body on the line in a tackle. Even with all of this we struggled to find our confidence in the morning which resulted in some narrow losses. Following lunch we were drawn into the Certificate competition against Bourne and Skegness. The boys played like a different team! They found their confidence and a new desire and thirst to score. This made for some fantastic rugby, great lines of running and some good support play which led to a plethora of tries being scored. Both Dan G and Brandon B crossed the white wash for their first tries for the school. The boys played really well and took the certificate competition with convincing wins against both Bourne and Skegness. Well done to all the boys involved, a good way to wrap up an exciting and enjoyable season. From Mr Short and the school ‘thank you’.
