Result: A - Won 7-0, B - Lost 7-1

The U13As travelled to Stamford with a full strength side for a late start at their impressive new pitches and pavilion. We were playing an U12 side but with only two Year 8s in our side the teams stacked up fairly evenly.

We started well on two minutes as a drive down the line on the right wing resulted with a foot in the D and a short corner which was converted by Angelina sweeping in.

A minute later Angie got her second from a super pass by Imogen. On 5 minutes it was three as Florence composed herself in front of goal as Imogen assisted again.  After 11 minutes Anglie got her hat trick with an assist from Peyia. Sophie was controlling the defence with good tackles and clearances.

The difference between the teams was intensity and structure. The Stamford team were not pressuring the ball which allowed our girls to play and they played super hockey combining all the elements I look for in a hockey game.

At half time we swapped Angie with Amelia in order to allow the birthday girl a goal. It took 9 minutes before we scored again as Peyia swept in a short corner. Three minutes later Florence got her second of the game with an assist from Peyia. With a couple of minutes left on the clock Amelia took her chance and got her birthday reward. It was a quiet day in goal for Charlotte with a couple of strong clearances.  

A super game girls - next week let's try and play similarly against Oakham.
