On Wednesday 6th December the U13 Girls Hockey team travelled to Worksop College to avenge a
defeat suffered earlier in the season at home. The game was fairly even for the first 8 minutes until
Worksop scored. There was then another 7 minutes of even play until the 15th minute when
Worksop got their second. Despite Emily R and Molly R having solid defensive games and Ava W
having a great game bossing her defence the Worksop runners were not tracked well enough and
they quickly scored a third and fourth; which probably shouldn't have been given as no attacker's
stick touched the ball in the D.
At half time the message was to work harder and win the second half. The girls responded well
increasing their pace. However, they were still standing off the Worksop big hitter and afraid of
deliberately playing the ball onto the oppositions foot. On 12 minutes Worksop got their first of the
second half and this was doubled in the 16th minute. The final score was 6-0 against St. Hugh's.
The season overall has been a mixed bag with about a 50% win ratio. The Year 8s are wished success
at their senior schools and hockey exploits in the future and we look forward to gelling the Year 6s
into a team ready for the Edinburgh tour next year.
