Report

St Edward's won the toss and chose to start. Nearly straight away they scored. This gave us a wakeup call and we starting marking tighter but we soon let them score again. We took our centre pass and worked the ball up the court into our d and then we scored. We played a defensive first quarter so due to this they scored another. We did a great ball to Emily who shot but unfortunately the intercepted the ball but we then intercepted it back. We then did a silly pass which lead to it going off court. Score of that quarter = 3-1 to King Edward's academy.

Miss Hainsworth then swapped some of our positions and we went on knowing that if we worked hard we could catch up to King Edward's. So we played hard but they scored. We then intercepted the ball and Ava scored a brilliant one from the edge of the d. King Edward's centre pass was soon intercepted by Emily but unfortunately they got the ball back from a penalty. They then scored 3 more. We wanted to win this match so we pushed on and scored, but unfortunately they mainly had possession of the ball towards the end of that quarter. Score of that quarter = 3-8 to King Edward’s.

In the third quarter we played well when we had the ball and worked it into space which leads to us scoring but they replied with another. Bridie did a great interception and she scored. Then we kept possession and were doing some nice neat passes we then unfortunately did some foot work which means they gained the ball. Grace did a backline to Emily who managed to pass it up the court to the shooters who scored another. Score of that quarter = 6-9.

In the last quarter we knew we to push on if we wanted to gain this win. Unfortunately straight away they scored. But we were determined to win so we got one back. We did some great passes up the wing and it was nice and neat which lead to us scoring another. We then persevered on and scored another. End score = 10-8 to King Edward's. Well played girls!!

Girl of the game goes to Emily R for getting into great space and having brilliant interceptions!
