The U13 girls took to the rounders pitch for the first time this Wednesday in their match against Lincoln Minster. A strong start in the batting innings for St Hugh’s with many of the 9 players gaining half and full rounders. When LMS took to bat, the home team demonstrated their fielding strengths, getting 6 of the 9 players out in just 30 balls. Great coverage of the deep field by Caitlin who was instrumental in getting the ball back to the posts.

The second innings saw confident bowling from the opposition, meaning the home team struggled to engage with the ball as ferociously as in the first. However, the decision making skills and communication demonstrated by the girls was impressive, taking the opportunity to reach first and fourth post at the right moment.

The final result saw Lincoln Minster take the win despite a brilliant, tactical display of rounders by the U13 St Hugh’s girls.
