Match Report

Result:

1st half - 25 - 0 (5 - 0) W

2nd half - 10 - 5 (2 - 1) W

The U13 Boys welcomed Lincoln Minster this week. St Hugh’s approached this game with some confidence following last week's game. Minster arrived in good time, unfortunately they didn’t bring the sunshine with them. Minster had a relatively inexperienced squad so we made some changes to support this. We kicked off in the driving rain and St Hugh’s played some good Rugby to score some quick tries. The St Hugh’s boys were given some challenges to get them thinking and working closely as a team. The U13 boys stepped up to these challenges and ran in another 3 tries to take us into half time.

We needed to make some changes to create some positive experiences for both teams in what was some pretty nasty weather. So… we mixed up the teams to create two super teams. Every boy was on the field and we had a great 20 minutes of Rugby. End to end with some great passing and tackling. Both teams scored a try each and it went to the final minutes of the game. Both MInster and St Hugh’s worked well together and supported each other. Last play of the game the ball was sent wide to find Rico in some space and he finished a good try. 2 - 1 wrapped up a good afternoon of rugby. Well done to the U13 boys showing some great character in mixing up the teams and giving Minster a positive experience.
