On Wednesday, the Under 13 rugby team kicked off the season with 2 matches against Worksop.
We won the toss and chose to receive. We didn’t start too well as we had too many handling errors and too many tackles were missed. That led to 2 tries scored by Worksop. The half time whistle blew and we had a good team talk with Mr. Sinnott. We came back on the pitch and our tackling improved as the match progressed but it wasn’t enough to stop their attack, so they scored 3 more tries.
End score was 5-0 to Worksop.
Our second match against Worksop B started off well with a good defensive line but unluckily they slipped around us and scored a try. We kept our heads high but they ran through us and scored a further 2 tries. At half time the score was 3-0 to Worksop. On the second half, we came on feeling strong and Ben ran down the wing scoring our first try of the season. Joseph S scored a try making the score 3-2 to them. We were starting to build our confidence and with a penalty in our favor Gorge P scored our last try.
End score 3-3.
