U13A&B Boys’ Hockey v Worksop College (A) 2.30pm

A Team

Result: W 8-2

The Under 13 Boys teams played half pitch games at Horncastle Hockey Club’s astro. With three players missing we played as a Year 8 side and a Year 7 side.

The Year 8s played Worksop Year 7 A team. It took five minutes before we scored our first goal as Elliot touched in a short corner at the back post. We were in the ascendency and playing very well.  After Rico scored our second on 11 minutes the floodgates opened and Elliot scored three further goals and Spike two. Despite Worksop having a couple of skillful outfield players and goalie, at half time it was 7-0 to St Hugh’s. At half time we switched our wingers with our defenders. In the second half, Worksop scored two goals and Leo scored a rare goal to the credit of the team play. Final score 8-2.

B Team

Result: L 7-2

The Year 7s played Worksop Year 7 B team and it was a very equal game. Some of the movement, teamwork, skills and tactical decisions were impressive.

The first half finished 3-1 to Worksop with Aydin having scored for St Hugh’s.

In the second half, Worksop scored a further 4, mainly breakaway, goals despite St Hugh’s playing good possession hockey. Aydin scored his second of the game with the final score 7-2 to Worksop.
