U13B Pairs Cricket v Stamford U13C

Result: Lost by 24 runs

The U13B team played away at Stamford on Wednesday the 27th of April.

Stamford batted first with Hatty and Ruby opening our bowling. Hatty had a very economical first over and Ruby took a wicket in her first over. The first pair scored 21 runs.

The second pair had a big hitter and they scored 35 against Freya and Annabel.

The third pair against Spike and Dan scored 12 with the loss of two wickets; one to each bowler.

Stamford's final pair scored 20 runs against Daniel and Leo with Leo taking two wickets.

Stamford's final score was 88 for 5.

Daniel and Leo were the first pair for St Hugh's and they kept us on track by scoring 20 in their four overs without losing a wicket with them both scoring 4s.

Freya and Annabel were second pair in and they too both scored 4s. They scored 15 runs for the loss of two wickets and we were now getting behind the run rate.

Our third pair of Hatty and Ruby scored 20 runs… however, they lost 4 wickets and so were net zero.

The final pair of Spike and Dan knew they had a tall order of scoring 53 in 24 balls with Spike particularly scoring well. However, the runs dried up and despite not losing a wicket they were 24 runs short at the end of the game.

Well played team; we'll try to lose less wickets next time but at least we particularly enjoyed the match teas!
