We welcomed Grantham Prep this week for our U9 hockey match which was played on the astro turf.  Our Year 4 girls made up the team this week and they very much enjoyed playing as a year group.  St Hugh’s started strongly and I was very impressed by how well they worked together as a team.  It was great to see us distributing the ball and using the width and depth of the pitch.  We are also learning to work hard ‘off the ball’ and our spatial awareness is continuing to develop.  As a result, St Hugh’s managed to maintain possession and create several goal scoring opportunities.  Despite leading for the duration of the match, St Hugh’s had to keep working hard and it was pleasing to see every member of the team tracking back.  Final score 8-1 victory. Well done to all players.
