Match Report
With glorious sunshine in Woodhall Spa, the U9s set off for Ranby on Wednesday afternoon. There had been some varied forecasts but we made a mutual decision with Ranby to have a go. As we arrived, a very dark cloud appeared so we made a quick start with St Hugh’s opening the batting for both teams. It was at the end of the fifth over, where the heavens really opened and we had to make a dash inside. Unfortunately, Ranby were forced to call the game off as the rain was not getting any lighter and thunderstorms were now forecast. The children were naturally disappointed but conducted themselves well and enjoyed a match tea before departing for home.
In the A game, St Hugh’s scored a total of 43 runs over 5 overs and no wickets were taken. There were some super 4s scored by Beau and some great singles too, with Seb making some good calls. Josh (Captain) and Coco also worked well together, scoring a good handful of singles. Unfortunately, Edward and Tallulah only managed one over before the game was abandoned but nonetheless, they scored five runs within the over. Well done.
