St Hugh’s got off to an excellent start and the score was 4-0 in the first few minutes. Playing the stinger netball rules the girls need to rotate throughout the game, this is to ensure that children learn and develop both attack and defence skills. After the first rotation the girls struggled to score without India as shooter. It is important that all the girls spend time working on their shooting skills, there are lunchtime workshops available.
Lincoln Minster girls worked hard to win back possession and made some excellent interceptions as the game developed.
The end score was 7-1, well done girls!
(India 5, Frankie 1, April 1)
Result: Drew 3-3
The girls were ready and raring to go on Monday afternoon against Lincoln Minster, with Emily scoring the first goal within a matter of three minutes, and Coco holding the defence as GK along with Olivia who supported her brilliantly as GD. After Lincoln Minster scored an equaliser it was Agatha who pulled us back giving us the lead 2-1. Tara's diverse ability to switch between defence and attack on each rotation really helped the team gain confidence, as well as Penelope's consistent drive as Centre, a position she has taken fondly to. Although the girls managed to score another goal making it 3-1, Lincoln Minster equalised in the final 10 minutes making the end score 3-3, a score that certainly reflects the immense progress our U9B Team players have made since the beginning of the season, where we struggled to score any goals in our first netball festival held here at St Hugh's.
Well done girls, super proud of you all as per usual.
(Emily 1, Tara 1, Agatha 1)
