U11 Report

It was unfortunate that one of our U11 matches was cancelled on Wednesday which brought the hockey season to a close for some of the girls.

We did however still travel to Worksop to play in a triangular fixture with Ranby and Wellow. This was a mixed ability team  involving mainly Year 5 pupils.

Jasmine stepped in as GK having been padded up for the first time during training on Monday.  She seemed to enjoy the challenge and made some super saves!  We also played some of our stronger players out of position to allow others the opportunity to get more involved.

There was some great defensive play by Annabel and Helena in our defending half and they distributed the ball well using the width of the pitch. Tallia and Beth worked hard on the wings and Annabel played a key role in the centre midfield.

The team really worked hard for one and other and there were some great crosses by Beth and a number of chances. St Hugh's were delighted to capitalise on these and goals were scored by Beth (2), Tallia and Holly! For Tallia and Holly this was their first goal of the season, well done! We were very pleased to win both games with a 3-0 win against Wellow and a closely contested 4-3 win against Ranby.

Well done to all players and to the whole U11 squad for a fantastic season! Thanks must go to our three Year 6 girls for their super leadership.
