It has certainly been a busy start to the season for the U9A&B teams!  This week, following their superb performance against Burton Hathow, St Hugh's U9A&B met Ranby for the second time this term.

U9A

Although we were back on half pitch games, this did not throw our girls and we continued to use the width and depth of the pitch to great effect. In fact, the standard of hockey from St Hugh's at times was excellent.  From the outset, the girls led a focused warm up, reflected on their performance and set themselves three targets for the match. They also led their own discussion at half time, looking firstly at the positives and then the areas they wanted to develop. It is no wonder that their mature and motivated approach led to a convincing win from the St Hugh's side. It was great to see all players adapting to different positions and making the ball do the work with some fantastic team play. It was also encouraging to see them a little more feisty in front of goal, with a number of players scoring for the first time.

A very well deserved win and an enjoyable game to watch! Many thanks to our supporters on the sidelines who clapped the team off the pitch on the final whistle.
