Report

It was great to have U9A, B & C teams playing against Highfields on Monday afternoon. For this fixture we played 5 a side, allowing the girls more space on court which they adapted well to.  Our captains this week were Peyia (A), Mahreen (B) and Isadora (C) who all enjoyed taking on a leadership role which included warming their team up, doing the toss and congratulating the opposition at the end of the game.

The girls have been working hard during training and it was lovely to see them applying skills and concepts that we have been working on, such as losing a defender and holding space on court. The girls are becoming more familiar with positions and this was evident in all three matches.  They also demonstrated a better awareness of the rules and were quicker to react to the umpires whistle. We saw some lovely court linkage from all three teams with players supporting one and other and working hard off the ball, both in attack and defence. It was very promising to have all three teams scoring goals this week - this is down to them opting to practise during their own lunch breaks and it has certainly paid dividends! Well done to Verity (2), Sophie (1), Ailsa (1), Florence (1) and Zoie (4)!

Final scores were 3-3 draw (A), 2-0 win (B) and 4-0 win (C).  A super afternoon of sport! Well done to all players and thank you to those parents who managed to come along and spectate. We look forward to welcoming St Martin's Prep this coming Wednesday.
