Alumni Visit
It was a real treat to welcome former St Hugh’s pupil and Commonwealth Games medallist, Harry Milne, to school on Monday to meet our Senior Swim Squad.
Harry began the visit with autographs and photographs before joining the pupils in the pool for an engaging Q&A session. It was fantastic to hear them asking some thoughtful and insightful questions, giving them the opportunity to learn more about Harry’s journey from St Hugh’s to the international stage. The highlight for many was undoubtedly the chance to challenge Harry to a race! Pupils could choose their own stroke and which stroke Harry had to swim against them. This created plenty of excitement, laughter and some very competitive racing (albeit with a few handicaps in place)! It was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to meet a former St Hugh’s swimmer who has gone on to achieve at the highest level. Harry was a brilliant role model, and his visit provided our swimmers with a memorable insight into what can be achieved through dedication, hard work and a love of the sport.
We wish Harry the best of luck at Loughborough University where he will study Psychology and continue to train hard.
