Match Report
This week the girls travelled to Stamford for their rearranged IAPS competition. Despite very cold conditions the girls were full of spirit and ready to go. Penelope as captain prepared a speech for the team inspired by the recent England Roses game and this lifted the team further. The morning consisted of pool stages where the girls had some tough opposition and narrow defeats. They needed to adapt to the wind and height of opposition to move towards the ball. There were some wonderful moments of play down the court and this provided us many opportunities at goal. In most of the pool matches we secured goals and in the final pool match the girls came away with a win against Stephen Perse. It was super to see the team morale and spirit continue despite the end results. This afternoon we were regrouped and had our final match against Witham Hall. This was by far the best match the girls had and they ended their day of netball on a high. The whole team should be proud of their efforts and contributions but special mention needs to go to Harriet and Coco for their athleticism to jump and intercept the ball and to Penelope for not only leading the girls wonderfully but for also playing with determination to win the ball. Well done girls!
