Match Report

Result: 5-3 W

What a super match! The U9s have made great progress this season and are demonstrating better game awareness and skills on the pitch. We have been focusing on putting immediate pressure onto attacking players and playing with better grit and determination. This shone through from all the girls as the match went on. The game started strong with an early goal from Anna. With some strong passes, super triangles and application of pressure the girls moved the ball beautifully down the pitch and in four passes it was in the D and Emilia had scored. By half time Tranby had scored two goals and the game was level. Now was the time for the girls to apply more pressure and drive forwards. This was super and allowed St Hugh’s to travel with speed and accuracy. Hollie had a wonderful drive into the D resulting in our third goal of the match. Tranby responded and we ended the third quarter 3 all despite a strong defensive unit. With ten minutes left to play the girls had to power on. An attacking force of Cecily, Anna, Hollie and Jemima powered through the strong Tranby defence and Hollie was able to reverse stick flick the ball into the goal. In the final minutes she scored another, securing a win for St Hugh’s of 5-3. I am incredibly proud of the team effort given. Emilia was awarded opposition player. Well done girls!
