U10 Hockey v West Hill Park Touring Team (H) 3.15pm

Match Report

Result: 3 - 1 Win

The U10 girls enjoyed a fantastic fixture against touring side West Hill Park, who joined us as part of their sports tour before staying overnight in our boarding house.

The match started very evenly, with both teams creating opportunities and showing some lovely attacking hockey. Our girls worked hard to move the ball into space, using the width of the pitch well and looking to support one another going forward. We managed to make the breakthrough with the first goal of the game, but West Hill Park responded well and soon found an equaliser, leaving everything to play for.

After half-time, the girls came back onto the pitch with real determination. They increased the intensity of their play, were stronger in their tackles and began linking passes together with much more confidence. Their hard work was rewarded with another goal before they continued to press forward and scored a third.

West Hill Park continued to challenge us right until the final whistle, making it a competitive and enjoyable fixture for everyone involved. It was particularly pleasing to see the girls’ teamwork, communication and confidence grow as the match progressed.

A brilliant performance from the whole U10 team and a lovely way to welcome West Hill Park to St Hugh’s for their sports tour. We hope they enjoyed the match and their overnight stay with us!
