U10 Stamford Junior School Hockey Festival (A) 2.00pm

A Team

Our A  team put in a fantastic performance at the Stamford Hockey Festival, winning all five matches and not conceding a single goal throughout the day – a brilliant achievement and a testament to the team’s hard work and determination. We started strongly against Grantham Prep, winning 5–0 thanks to a superb hat-trick from Harriet and two well-taken goals from Holly. Next up was Witham Hall, where Harriet struck another three goals and Holly added a fourth. Annabelle’s superb passing was key in this game, setting up multiple chances. Against Wisbech, we were clinical again, winning 5–0. Holly scored twice (earning herself player of the match), Jemima also scored twice, and Harriet added our fifth. The match against Stamford was our toughest challenge, but Harriet’s determination saw her score both goals in a solid 2–0 win. We rounded off the day with a 2–0 victory over Copthill, with goals from Anna and Cecily sealing a perfect festival performance.

This was an outstanding team effort – every player contributed, our defence was rock-solid, and our attack was relentless. Five wins from five, 18 goals scored, and none conceded – a brilliant day for the team!

B Team

Our B team had a good afternoon with some great progression through the festival. Our first match was our toughest against Witham Hall. The girls showed some great determination when the score was 2-0 to come back and score a goal, it was a team effort with Willow getting the ball across the line.  Our second match was against Stamford and this was a very even match with only one goal between the teams with Stamford scoring. However the team work from the girls was great to see.  Our third match was against another Stamford team and again it was very even with 1 goal between them but this time we scored with Emilia scoring the winning goal. Our fourth match was against Brooke Priory, this was an even match between the teams. The girls had listened to the advice from their coaches and it showed throughout the game with some great passages of play. Unfortunately Brooke did score a goal towards the end of the match.  Our Final Match was against Wisbech. The girls showed some great team work. Their progression of their skills and match awareness really showed in this game. Unfortunately Wisbech did score but the girls did have some shots on their goal but were unlucky.

It was a good afternoon of hockey even though we were unlucky in some of the scores. The girls never put their heads down and showed some great determination and perseverance. A big thank you to Bella for stepping up to be goalie.
