U10 & U11 Hockey v LMS (H-HHC) 2.15pm

Match Report

U10

Result: 3-6 L

The U10s travelled to Horncastle for their fixture against Lincoln Minster, it was a tough game against a strong minster side in the first quarter conceding four goals, which saw the team lose formation and structure to their game in a panic response.

After a team talk and reminder of what the team had been practicing the girls returned to court with more structure and space, using more width on the pitch and being quicker to transition on a turn over ball. The girls had more attacking attempts at goal, which saw successful shots for Eme and pulled the score line slightly closer.  Defensively the girls were challenging earlier, helping to keep Minister away from goal and higher up pitch.

Well done to Alexandra for her first opportunity to play in goal.

U11

Result: 11-2 W

An outstanding performance from the U11s against Lincoln Minster, with the team producing some excellent attacking hockey throughout the match.

St Hugh’s played with real confidence, moving the ball quickly and creating plenty of opportunities in front of goal. Cecily, Bella and Hollie demonstrated a particularly strong skill set, showing excellent control, decision-making and composure on the ball.
Hollie was clinical in front of goal, scoring four, while Cecily completed a superb hat-trick and Willow added two. Joseph also found the back of the net, with Amelia rounding off the scoring following some excellent build-up play and a brilliant assist from Cecily.

Lincoln Minster continued to compete well and scored twice, but St Hugh’s remained in control and worked hard for one another right until the final whistle.

A fantastic team performance and a very impressive display of hockey.
