U10 & U11 Rugby v LMS (H) 2.15pm
Match Report
U11 Result: Won 10-5
After a wet morning we travelled to Lincoln for our match. As the pitch was quite small we played 8-a-side, so we had 3 subs for Mr Tyler to rotate. We started positively and were soon two tries ahead due to good runs from Vinnie and Charlie. Minster had a couple of good players who proved quite difficult to tackle, particularly if we let them build up some speed; Minster did score a couple of tries before half time, however we continued to press and were ahead 5-2 at half time.
During the second half there were some strong runs from Harvey, George and Ralph and almost a great individual try from Charles P. Better tackling from all the players and a little more early passing allowed us to eventually win the game 10-5.
A good all-round performance.
U10 Result: Won
St Hughs U10 were fast out of the blocks scoring a number of individual tries creating a comfortable lead. We then worked on trying to move the ball through the hands of all the team and using the full width of the pitch resulting in scoring team tries. Minster kept playing but with a great defensive effort from the boys they kept their scoring to a minimum while still scoring tries at the other end. Well played.
