U9 GIrls - 2nd Place

U11 Boys - 2nd Place

St Hugh’s runners were back in action this week following our Set Cross Country before the half term break. This saw 24 runners across the Y3-6 age group competing at Copthill Invitational Cross Country on a glorious spring day. Copthill is always a favourite with our runners and this year the conditions were favourable for once!

Every runner represented the school exceptionally well and it was a real team effort in all four categories. There were 9-12 schools racing in each category so competition was tough!

There were some outstanding top 10 performances including our highest placed runner of the day, Hollie F (2nd Place) as well as Genevieve (4th Place), Valentina (7th Place), Beau (9th Place) and Rory P (10th Place). Irrespective of position, every runner put in a sterling effort and it was great to see our children supporting one another over the course of the afternoon.

It was our U9 Girls and U11 Boys teams that shone this week, demonstrating great breadth. We were delighted to achieve two 2nd place finishes in these categories! Just one point away from 1st Place in the U9 Girls category! The U11 boys did exceptionaly well given that none of them achieved a medal position for top 6. Congratulations to our first four counters from these teams (detailed below).
