U11 Football v Lincoln Minster (A) 2.15pm

Match Report

A good final game was enjoyed by the A team on a windswept Lindum pitch. Playing four quarters gave us the opportunity to rotate keepers and juggle positions around. It took a while for us to get going and the game was a scrappy affair on a small pitch, until Gio raced through and broke the deadlock. The third quarter was our best session in terms of passing, with many fluent moves created, culminating in one beautifully crafted goal. There were several goalscorers - Gio bagged a few, as did Beau, and Vinnie was pleased to slot home his first goal of the season (despite the actual goal being blown over at the time!!). However, this was a true team performance, and there were fantastic defensive interventions by Freddie and Edward R at the back and George C in midfield. George P showed his class in midfield, as he has done all season, and as captain led by example throughout, again, as he has done all term. A short season boys but some very enjoyable passing football played - well done! It has been a pleasure to train such a talented bunch!
