Match Reports
U11A Team
Result: 1-6 L
As we walked out onto the pitch for our first game of the season, you could see some of our girls were nervous. Ranby started well, attacking from the opening whistle. Tallulah performed incredibly well despite just practising once in goal prior to the match. Ranby didn't give up, and the score quickly went to 3-0. Penelope found a gap in the field and scored for us. A terrific first game that, despite the loss, proved how well we worked as a team. Working on formations last week, using them in the game today, and seeing the results has shown the girls that training is important. Congratulations to Tallulah on being named player of the match; you made numerous saves, making it tough for the opposition to score. I'm looking forward to following your progress throughout the season.
U11B Team
Result: 1-2 L
The girls were out early, practising their formations in anticipation of Ranby's arrival. The girls performed effectively as a team, maintaining to the formations they learnt in training last week and limiting gaps on the pitch. The game was quite even between the two sides, with both fighting extremely hard to reach the goal. Annabelle B broke through multiple players in defence to score St Hugh's goal, whilst Olivia B was an indestructible defence player who made it extremely difficult to get through. The score was unlucky for the team, as Ranby won 2-1. Congratulations to Annabelle B on receiving the player award.
