Match Reports

After the excitement of crossing the Humber Bridge, both the U11 A and B teams were set up and ready for the starting whistle.

A Team

Result: 1-2 Win

The U11A team demonstrated excellent teamwork and communication throughout the match. When faced with limited options going forward, they showed great patience by recycling the ball and transitioning it around the back to switch play to the opposite wing. Tranby’s swift decision-making in the defensive circle, coupled with their ability to block shots, was impressive. A quick team discussion during a break refocused the players on taking quicker shots on goal, which proved successful. Harriet took full advantage of this adjustment, scoring two well-deserved goals! End result 1-2 Win! It was a fantastic way to restart the season after the half-term break. A special mention goes to April, who was awarded Player’s Player for her outstanding performance.

B Team

Result: 1-1

The U11B team played some great hockey in their match, with Olivia playing a key role in defence and feeding the ball effectively to the wings. While the team showed promise, there is still work to be done on maintaining a solid formation to prevent breakdowns in play.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Emily scoring the equaliser for St Hugh’s. A special congratulations to Annabelle for being named Player’s Player for her fantastic contribution to the game. Well done, team!
