Match Reports

U11A Team

Result: 1-7 Loss

Our U11A team faced Witham A in the final fixture of the season, and wow, did we work hard! Witham came out strong from the first whistle, attacking our defensive line with fantastic skill. Before we knew it, we were 4-0 down, but then we had a breakthrough! Harriet scored a fantastic goal in a 1v1 with the Witham goalkeeper, lifting our spirits and reigniting our team’s energy.

This goal helped boost our team spirit, and we made it much harder for Witham to break through our defence. At halftime, the score was 6-1. After a positive team talk and some key focuses, we came out stronger in the second half, allowing just one more goal, bringing the final score to 7-1.

Rosie received Player of the Match for her fantastic saves and confidence in goal - definitely a position that suits you!

U11B Team

The U11Bs played a triangular on the Horncastle astra.

We first played against Witham Hall. It was 15 minutes one way and it was a really close game. With rolling subs on the wings and in the centre we had lots of energy and movement off the ball. St Hugh’s took the lead with Tallulah scoring a well taken goal. Both Olivias were impressive both defensively and going forward. Emily made some good saves but Witham managed to score. The final score was 1-1.

After a break on the bench watching the other teams play, which also finished 1-1, we were back on against Burton Hathow. This was a tight affair with Tara and Annabelle both playing really well for the opposition! Florence was making strong runs for us on the left but we were unable to convert the pressure. The final score was 0-0 after some competitive hockey.
