Result: Won
Amazingly the rain stayed away so we could start the game on the main school square. Stamford batted first and we bowled well and fielded extremely well. Of the 7 wickets that fell, six were run outs and the other was a good stumping by wicket keeper Beau. George organised the bowling and field placings expertly and Stamford finished on a score of 146 (81 for 7 before deductions)
We batted very well with all the pairs scoring runs. Beau and Hugo put on 22 for 1 wicket, Josh M and Charlie scored 14 for no wickets and then Ralph and George C scored an impressive 35 for 1 wicket. At this point the sky was turning very dark and there was thunder rumbling in the distance. There was still time for Verity and Olivia B to score 14 for the loss of 2 wickets and for Freddie and George P to face 1 over before the heavens opened! Our score was 172 at the time with 2 overs to go, which was 26 runs ahead , so St Hughs were declared the winner.
