A Team

Result: W 2-0

This was an excellent team performance against Oakham. I was particularly pleased with the passing in the first half with some accurate passing around the edge of the opposition ‘D’ from Rory, Sam and Joshua, doing a good impression of Manchester City at their best! We had a number of good chances and Joshua F converted one with a skilful reverse stick shot. James and Edward were solid in defence and Joshua N, although not very busy in goal, did make a couple of vital saves. We doubled our lead in the second half through a long range shot from Rory S and had the chances to score even more. Well done boys…a first victory of the season!

B Team

Result: L 0-1

The B team played extremely well against a good Oakham side who had given our A team a run for their money. In the first half, we passed well and tried to get the ball wide as instructed. A few quick through balls saw us have a couple of one-on-ones with their keeper but we were unfortunate not to score. We kept their opportunities to a minimum and Edward J in goal was there to make some crucial saves when needed. In the second half, Seb and Edmund continued to marshal the defence well, and again we were unlucky not to score when Alastair had a shot saved on the line. Edmund received a sharp bump on the head when a ball popped up; whilst he was off the pitch and applying the obligatory ice-pack to the afflicted area, Oakham took their opportunity to break and score the only goal of the game.
