St Hugh's v Burton Hathow A Team: 5-2 L

It was great to umpire for the U11B/C players on Wednesday afternoon in a triangular fixture against Burton Hathow and Wellow. The girls enjoyed the luxury of the indoor court and adapted well to more space! They also coped very well with the change to 7-a-side this week.

Our first match saw us face the Wellow A Team. St Hugh's had a good amount of possession although did give the ball away through rushed passes. As a result, we conceded two goals in quick succession in the first half. However, having identified some targets for the second half the team stepped up and it was great to see them timing their drives well. This led to some successful attacking play, resulting in two eventual goals from Camilla. The opposition nominated Tallulah (attack) and Camilla (defence) as players of the game.

We then faced the Burton Hathow A Team straight after. The opposition had some athletic players and transitioned the ball quickly into our defensive half putting us under significant pressure. We battled hard but found it hard to defend against some skilful shooting and went into half time 4-0 down. An improved second half saw the St Hugh's side capitalise on two great attacking phases of play with Genevieve scoring both goals. A 5-2 loss.

A great effort against A teams, girls!
