U11 Netball v Ranby (A) 2.15pm

Match Report

The U11’s travelled to Ranby for a busy afternoon of netball. With IAPS later this week it was good for the girls to experience 3 different mini matches and work on combinations and units. The afternoon started with St Hugh’s playing the Ranby B team. This was a strong performance with good communication and work on driving forwards/providing two options to every ball. Next, the girls played St Peters & St Paul’s in 7 aside game. There was some strong opposition and the girls had to work hard for the ball. It was great to see the ball being played smoothly down the court and some excellent shots being made from the team. The second match ended with another win to St Hugh’s. The final game was against Ranby A. This was the toughest of the afternoon and pushed the girls' fitness and speed on court. Lots learnt, gained and achieved across three different matches. A super afternoon and an exciting IAPS ahead.

The U11 girls played two competitive matches against Ranby, winning one game and narrowly losing the other. Across both fixtures, the team showed great determination, teamwork, and improving confidence on court.
There were several standout performances. Libby was excellent in the shooting circle, showing accuracy and composure under pressure to convert chances into goals. Maddie demonstrated strong decision making throughout, working hard to find space and move the ball effectively down the court, helping to drive play forward.
Overall, the girls should be proud of their efforts. The matches provided valuable learning opportunities and highlighted the team’s continued progress in both skills and game awareness.

On Wednesday afternoon the C team ended up playing 2 teams from Ranby, the first team was quite evenly matched against our girls. The girls played extremely hard and put everything they have done in practice into the game and are getting stronger and better each week. Every girl played their part and adapted well to the rotations. The second team we played had a slight height advantage and with a boy in the team gave the girls a new challenge to face. Despite this the girls played hard and had some good passes. Unfortunately the height difference had an effect in the shooting circle with Ranby scoring 3 goals in one rotation. Overall, it was a good afternoon of netball from the girls.

C Team: lost 3-0
