U11 Hockey

Blue Team

Result: W 5 - 2

The U11 Blue Hockey team travelled across the Humber Bridge to play Tranby.  We had six outfield players. 

The defenders started as Livvy, Emilia and Jonty. Left wing Beatrix, centre Bonnie and right wing was Joseph.

The game was really well fought and was end to end over both halves.  We were two nil down after 5 minutes but after a quick change in defence we looked more solid. Joseph was making some great runs on the right and fed the ball to Beatrix who got our first.  

The score kept sea-sawing with Livvy scoring, Joseph getting two and Emilia showing composure in front of goal scoring a hattrick.  Bonnie was putting players under pressure in the middle of the pitch and Jonty and Livvy tackling well at the back. 

The final score was 8-6 to Tranby in a very entertaining game.  Man of the match went to Bonnie

U11 Rugby

Result: 6 - 6 

The U11 team made the journey North over the Humber Bridge to play Tranby School. It was quite a small pitch with no kicking allowed and a couple of minor rule changes so it took us a while to acclimatise to  the situation. Tranby had a couple of very fast, agile players who proved difficult to stop  and they scored a couple of tries early on. We replied with a well taken individual try from Charlie S, however the half time score was 4-1 to Tranby.

We spoke at half time about early tackles and running straighter and the new tactics paid off straight away as Vinnie scored from the restart.  There was some excellent tackling by Harry, Arthur, Ralph and Hugo, and Harvey and George made some superb runs through the opposition who found them very difficult to stop. Ralph scored 2 tries and Vinnie and Charlie added another each to make the scores equal at 6 tries all.

A fantastic come back in the second half with the boys showing what they are capable of!
