The U11 Softball Cricket Team travelled to Louth to play Greenwich House. The pairs were Joshua M and Edward P. Florence B and Bella I, Hetty C and Annabelle B, Charlotte C and Maddie L. Captain Florence won rock paper scissors and we chose to bat.
Our first pair of Edward and Joshua scored 27 without the loss of a wicket from their 4 overs with Joshua scoring a 6 and Edward a 4. Florence and Bella scored 24 without loss with Florence scoring a 4. Hetty and Annabelle scored 26 for the loss of just one wicket from their final ball. Hettie scored two 4s and Annabelle one. Charlotte and Maddie faced an impressive bowler who took four wickets. They finished on minus one.
When it came to bowling, Joshua bowled tidily but Edward took wickets with the first ball of both of his overs. They conceded 23 for 1. Florence and Bella conceded 35. Both Hetty and Annabelle bowled without conceding a wide and Hetty took a wicket. They conceded 35 runs. Charlotte and Maddie conceded 36 runs from their 4 overs.
The final score was St Hugh’s 76 for 6 and Greenwich House 119 for 2.
