U11 Swim Gala v Tranby/Grantham/Greenwich House 1.45pm

Match Report

It was great to see our U11 swim team in action on Friday afternoon in an invitational gala hosted by St Hugh’s.  We welcomed teams from Tranby, Grantham Prep and Greenwich House and the afternoon saw girls and boys competing across A & B races in all strokes.  In order to give as many of our swim squad exposure to competitive swimming, we included intra-school races. The standard was very good and there were a number of very competitive races. St Hugh’s once again demonstrated great breadth with double the number of swimmers. The intra-school races were testament to this and it was a good opportunity to see the progress our pupils have made so far this year. St Hugh’s dominated in the relay events, giving them some valuable race experience ahead of our IAPS qualifier at Repton. Thank you to George C, our swim captain, for leading the team so well and for his lovely welcome and words of wisdom before the gala got started. A super afternoon in the pool.  Well done to all competitors, you represented team St Hugh’s with great enthusiasm and courage.
