Match Report

Result: Won 2-1

On Thursday 5th December the U13 girls took on Lincoln Minster's  Year 8s expecting a harder fixture than a few weeks before.

The girls started pleasingly well and were confident to pass the ball around and keep possession waiting for opportunities to develop to enter the D.

On four minutes Kitty swept in at the back post from a cross by Megan. A couple of minutes later Minster equalised. The game remained a stalemate with us having good possession as well as defending well when required. Three minutes from the half time whistle Kitty scored her second. At half time we had “won” the fixture 2-1 as Lincoln Minster then brought on two boys for the second half.

One of these boys scored two goals in the first three minutes! Pleasingly the girls then dug in and showed some grit. The battled well against the intimidating player working in numbers, going to the player and not backing away.

Megan scored our third goal on seven minutes with Kitty getting her hat-trick two minutes later. The strong boy then scored his third for Minster.

After good movement off the ball up front, Camilla got her just reward sweeping our fifth into the goal.

With the sky darkening Minster were awarded a short corner which was going to be a last play of the day. It was converted with aplomb making the final score across both games 5-5.

Well played girls, super determination. Lots of players of the day.
