Match Report

Result: Won by 62 runs St H 177-3 QEGS 115-8

This week we travelled to Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, Alford (QEGS). We opted to bat first with a view to set a good target for QEGS to chase. Opening the batting Euan and Rory had a great partnership scoring off every ball for the first few overs they achieved 24 (retired) and 25. Next in were Will L and Joshua, again some fantastic batting choosing shots wisely they achieved 22 (retired) and 8. Toby and Sam were next to the crease and both looked very comfortable in bat, achieving 22 (retired) and 17 (not out). Jemima was next in and was bowled by a good ball. Finally to see out the rest of our innings were Sam and Max who favouring his sweep scored another 22 to see out our innings. St Hugh’s set a respectable 177 for QEGS to go after. QEGS batted reasonably well and gave a good chase, their opener achieved a nice 18 and their number 8 achieved a 24 (retired). St Hugh’s bowling and fielding was tight though, not giving many extras. Wickets went; 3 to Charles, 1 to Will C, 1 to Euan and 2 to Joshua. A great result pulled together by a fantastic team effort and well captained by Euan. Well done to all players involved.
