Match Report
Result: W 2-1
On Wednesday 1st October the U13 Girls played Witham Hall in our first home fixture of the season.
With Eliza missing Camilla and Emily were supporting Captain Tabitha in the centre. Olivia was moved further up the pitch to play on the left with Tallulah. On the right were Genevieve and Lilian. Lulu and Coco marshalled the defence with Agatha in goal.
The first 10 minutes were well fought with attacks for both teams. On 13 minutes Witham Hall scored with a breakaway goal. There were no further goals in the half but the team were playing well.
The half time talk suggested passing in the D to each other in order to make the goal keeper’s job more difficult.
In the second half we applied more pressure but the Witham Hall keeper was very impressive; kicking and clearing well. We drew level on 9 minutes with a shot from Coco. A minute later we took the lead as the ball was fed to Genevieve. The game continued to be evenly matched and due to the heroics of their goalie, it finished 2-1 to St Hugh’s. Well played girls.
Girl of the Game was Coco for solid defending and strong attacks.
