We welcomed Witham Hall to St. Hugh’s looking to complete a busy week of hockey by the U13 girls.  The girls started well with determination and withstanding lots of attacks.  Ava was having a very good game in goal stopping lots of shots and dominating the D.  On 9 minutes Witham Hall scored but there was not a second until the last minute of the first half as they luckily doubled their lead.  At half time the request was to be more direct with our attacking and close down and battle for each ball reducing the chance for the opposition to play.  We got our reward in just a minute from the restart as Bridie drove forward and pushed the ball past the goalie.  On 6 minutes Witham scored again.  But we thought that we had pulled the game back to 3-2 only to find that the ball had not left the D on the short corner and the goal was rightly disallowed.  On 11 minutes Witham scored their 4th and in a replay of the first half managed to score a goal in the final minute.  Final score was 5-1 to Witham Hall; however a score line of 3-2 would have been more reflective of the game.
