Match Report
Result: A - Lost 6-0, B - Lost
The U13 girls travelled to Worksop for their penultimate game of the season. Buoyed by their last few performances the girls knew Worksop may be a difficult nut to crack as the opposition had recently made the semifinals of the regional tournament. Despite trying to start on the front foot, Worksop scored after a couple of minutes but this managed to kick the girls into action and they got stuck in. Poppy was distributing the ball well from the back and Amelia and Jemima were working hard in the middle. We conceded two more goals before half time. The second half was a similar hard task but Charlotte was standing steadfast in goal and Annabelle was getting stuck in in the middle of the park. Sophie started to exploit the space in front of her more and the wingers of Kitty and Florence penetrated deeper into the opposition half. We conceded a further three in the second half but it was a good, battling performance.
Another tough match for the Bs, Worksop taking control of the match early making the defence work hard. Some great saves from Lucia throughout the match with the support of Peyton and Amelie defending hard to keep Worksop out of the goal. Megan attacked on the right wing to keep pushing the team forward and had some great power shots at goal and getting opposition Player of the Match! Well done Megan and the team - who all kept going until the last whistle!
