U13 Netball v Uppingham (A) 2.15pm

Match Report

Result: 3-16 L

The U13s enjoyed an exciting new fixture as they faced Uppingham this week. The court play was evenly balanced throughout, but Uppingham’s confidence and accuracy in the circle saw them take an early lead, ending the first quarter 5–1 and extending this to 11–1 by half time, despite some strong passages of play from St Hugh’s.
The girls responded positively in the second half, with improved movement and teamwork through the court. The third quarter saw some excellent attacking link-ups, particularly from Genevieve and Coco. The final quarter continued in the same spirited manner, with St Hugh’s matching Uppingham’s intensity and finishing the match 16–3.
The whole team worked hard, with Tabitha voted as Player of the Match by the opposition for her leadership and composure throughout. Genevieve also impressed at centre, working tirelessly with quick footwork and sharp changes of direction to create space for her teammates. Looking ahead, the girls need to develop shooting and circle confidence as well as tightening circle defence.
