Result: Everyone's a winner!
On Wednesday 9 September the U13 boys headed to Oakham for a perfect start to the season. The St Hugh’s boys mixed in with boys from; Brooke Priory, Spratton Hall and Oakham around 100 players in total. Oakham teaching staff took the lead on an area of play each, putting all the boys through their paces firstly with a dynamic warm up and then progressing to 8 skill development stations. The St Hugh’s boys rotated around all the stations, working on; handling, catch/pass, attacking space, contact practice and some game play. It was a fantastic afternoon of rugby which was thoroughly enjoyed by all that took part. Well done everyone!
Hockey
The U13 girls began their hockey season at Oakham, joining pupils from Brooke Priory and Stratton Hall schools for a hockey masterclass. Around 70 players took part, rotating through skills stations focused on dribbling, carrying, striking and closing down an attacker, before putting their skills into practice in small-sided games.
The girls worked hard, supported one another and embraced the opportunity to play alongside pupils from other schools. A special mention goes to Agnes, who showed great determination in goal and put in a superb effort. Well done everyone!
