St Hugh’s played a rare Saturday fixture by travelling to Derbyshire on a fantastic sunny Saturday to compete in a Senior Tennis Fixture. Each pair played two fixtures both for 40 minutes.
Our A pair of Joshua N & Beau BW won their first fixture. The first set was won 6-3 and they were down 0-2 when the 40 minutes were up. In their second fixture against a Spanish pair we were winning 5-4 when the clock stopped play.
Our B pair of Edward B and Rory S lost their first rubber 6-1 and 5-2. Their second fixture was against Repton’s As and they lost 6-0 and 4-0.
St Hugh’s C pair were Olivia A and Verity B. They won 6-4 and then in their second contest 6-1 and 2-0.
St Hugh’s D pair of Coco W and Tallulah JB drew their first game 8-8, but this was to prove critical. They lost their second game 6-0 and 4-0.
Overall St Hugh’s edged the afternoon winning 4 games and drawing 1 to Repton’s 3 wins and a draw.
