Match Report

Result:  Team 1: 54/37 runs

On Monday afternoon, the St Hugh’s U8/9 team played Highfields in a brilliant game of cricket. Charlie won the toss and chose to field first. The team showed strong fielding skills, using long barriers effectively and returning the ball quickly to the wicketkeeper. Charlie took a fantastic catch, and Freddie, Otto, and Bertie all bowled impressively. Highfields finished their innings with 37 runs.
St Hugh’s chased the target confidently. Willow and Charlie opened the batting with some great shots and clever running. Maya, Cecily, Florence, Emilia, and Abi communicated well in their pairs, making the most of any misfields. Freddie, Bertie, Otto, and Joseph added some excellent 4s to the score. St Hugh’s ended the game on 54 runs, resulting in a win! 
It was a great match to watch, and Miss Kilby was very impressed with both teams' performance. Well done to everyone.

Result:  Team 2: W 285-262

Team two won the toss and decided to field first against the Highfields team. St Hugh’s worked well as a team with reactive fielding and communication to each other.  We saw some good bowling, keeping runs down and Florence even taking a wicket! Highfields finished their innings on 262.
In batting we saw great communication between some pairs stealing some sneaky runs!! We also had lots finding the boundary with some great hits from William, George, Lana and Alexandra. Well done everyone some great cricket played!
